Building a Better Australia

For too long Australia's major political parties have acted more in the interests or their own parties than in the interests of the people who vote them in.  And the more we allow this to happen the more it erodes the democratic process.

It's time for that to change.  You can do something about it, and help give Australians more of a say in State and Federal issues.

Currently, Australia spends over b a year buying oil from overseas. Money that's lining the pockets of oil producing countries and not ours. That's a heck of a lot of money that could be staying in Australia if we had alternatives such as electric powered vehicles and renewable energies. The Advance Australia Party is committed to helping develop viable alternatives, to not only fossil fuels, but the need for Australia to import energy from overseas.

Australian Farms Should Remain Australian Owned

By Advance
January 04, 2020
Category: FEDERAL
We think Australian farmlands should be owned by majority controlled Australian entities. While we support international investment in Australia, and accept international companies deserve returns on their investments in Australia, we think it unacceptable that international entities should have full ownership or controlling interests in our farmlands. It's just not in the best interests of Australians. Continue reading

Getting Tough on Violent Crime

By Advance
January 04, 2020
Category: FEDERAL

Laws on violent crime are currently far too soft in Australia. People who inflict violence on others, especially instances where the victim wants no part to play in any violence, should be dealt with severely. Australians must be able to feel safe knowing that laws are in place to protect them from violent criminal behaviour.

Instances such as domestic violence and coward punch attacks need to be stamped out. There is no place in our communities for people who attack others without provocation and long jail sentences are the way to... Continue reading

More Affordable Housing

Currently, there is a real shortage of good housing at affordable levels for most people in Sydney. Home ownership has become either a privilege of the few or a lifelong burden of paying interest to lenders. Real estate prices in inner Sydney have become so high that anyone buying a house now is paying the equivalent of all the interest and all the principle all the owners have paid on the property for the last 100 years! As well, there is a lot of foreign investment into luxury apartments that hasn't helped reduce the demand for housing. As... Continue reading

In June, 2018 the Liberal Party voted to sell the ABC. They haven't yet but would if they could. See Sydney Morning Herald's article Liberals Vote To Sell The ABC

An independent media that isn't controlled by commercial interests, or needs to lower its intellectual content to appeal to a greater audience, is a media channel well worth maintaining. It provides essential news and information to all Australians by Australians.

EXTEND TRADING HOURS FOR BUSINESS AND RETAIL

By Advance
February 01, 2019
Category: NSW

Currently most of us are still going to and from work around the same time, so we’re all on the roads, trains or ferries at the same time. Making it a slow and congested commute for a trip that may otherwise be much quicker if after hours.

Should businesses be allowed to be more flexible with their trading hours, not only would commuter congestion be reduced, but it would likely cause an increase in employment with the extr... Continue reading
