ADVANCE AUSTRALIA PARTY AUSTRALIA

Advance Australia Party - A  modern Australian political party tackling important issues affecting Australians - those that the major parties won't effectively address. Issues such as affordable housing, a sustainable economy, climate change, population sustainability, taxation reform, religious reform, environmental issues and legal reform to name a few.  While Advance identifies as a mainstream centre party, sometimes we tilt a little to the left, sometimes a little to the right, whatever is required for the issue at hand.

Buying a new home akin to modern slavery for many.

By Advance
May 30, 2021
Category: FEDERAL

Within a generation, the cost of buying a home in most major Australian cities has become so unaffordable that at least two household incomes are required to service a mortgage. But it wasn't all that long ago that just one household income was enough to service a home loan and pay it off in time for retirement. Nothing much has changed regarding the actual houses, they are still mostly the same old house of 30, 40, or even 80 years ago, its just that the price has multiplied to such an extent that its virtually impossible to pay off a new m... The future driven by education not superstition

By Advance
May 01, 2021
Category: FEDERAL

In the contest between religion and science, science eventually prevails. These days we see superstitious myths that have been advanced as truths by religions for centuries being debunked by science with only the pious left grasping to their beliefs - no matter how unsubstantiatable those beliefs may be.

We accept that religions played an important role in the development of society. Religions were the first form of legal systems. But today the modern law, comprising the legislature and courts, has evolved to better serve our... Continue reading

For how long can we sustain continuous population growth?

By Advance
May 01, 2021
Category: FEDERAL

Currently, our governments are reliant on population growth to maintain economic growth. They happily admit it, and don't have an alternative plan. But the world's population can't keep growing indefinitely, it's only a matter of time until population levels can't be maintained and sustainability collapses.

It seems absurd that our governments don't have a plan for maintaining a healthy economy beyond growing our population - forever!  There is currently no strategy that allows for our population levels to even out without fac... Continue reading

Say no to unhealthy food and drink advertising

By Advance
April 08, 2021
Category: FEDERAL

Obesity, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, dental and many other health issues are caused by having too much sugar and animal fats in our diets. It adds a massive cost to our health system. Yet, unhealthy products that cause us harm are allowed to be advertised to promote their consumption - mainly to children and people who need them the least.

It just doesn't seem right that a company's bottom line has more importance than the health of the community.

We believe there is no good reason why unhealthy food and drink... Continue reading

Religious Reform in Australia

By Advance
March 26, 2021
Category: FEDERAL

Advance believes that the living should not be ruled by the dead. This is not the case for many religious organisations who still hold strongly to beliefs created centuries ago. While they may have been appropriate in their time, are now out of step with modern society and simply fly in the face of modern community standards that we have today.

Thanks to the legal system we have in Australia today we're able to evolve and change our laws to suit current circumstances and community standards through our parliaments and how the court... Continue reading

Reducing Plastics in our Oceans

By Advance
March 26, 2021
Category: FEDERAL

Our oceans are the lifeblood of our planet, we can't have a healthy planet without healthy oceans. To put things into perspective, 80% of the oxygen we breathe comes from organic life in our oceans. If we continue on our current decimation of sea life in our oceans it's going to have a massive impact on the rest of the planet, and us!

As well as the massive loss of our sea life through over fishing and the unbalancing of its eco-structure, an even bigger problem exists with plastics in our oceans - not the plastics that are visible... Continue reading

Tariffs on Countries that Don't Share our Industrial Standards

By Advance

Australian companies should not have to compete with goods and services coming from overseas where workers are paid much lower wages and work in much poorer working conditions than Australians. It robs Australian workers of jobs as overseas competitors are allowed to get away with paying their workers much less than if they worked in Australia, yet still sell their products for profit in Australia.

It allows overseas producers to undermine our goods produced here and, more importantly, the working conditions and awards Australians... Continue reading

Aussie manufacturing jobs are being lost to cheap overseas labour

By Advance
November 30, 2020
Category: FEDERAL

It's common knowledge that many multi-national manufacturers take advantage of cheap labour in foreign countries to produce goods there to then ship to Australia to compete with Australian products. Australian manufacturers can't compete on price and we're losing Australian jobs as a result. Yet no-one is doing anything about it.

Through hard work and hard won entitlements Australia has achieved higher wages for workers than in most parts of the world and we have some of the best working conditions and safest working environments.... Continue reading

Taxation Overhaul in Australia

By Advance
November 26, 2020
Category: FEDERAL

Taxation Law in Australia is so complex and arduous that even Tax Lawyers find it difficult to navigate. Coupled with this we see large multinational corporations milking our system and raking billions of dollars from our economies while paying only a token in tax. Companies who manufacture overseas using low cost labour who then shift profits into tax havens to avoid paying tax here. Leaving the average Australian worker digging into their pockets to cover for it.

The current system is not working. Australian workers see huge amou... Continue reading

Currently Australia spends over b a year buying oil from overseas

By Advance
January 17, 2020

Currently, Australia spends over b a year buying oil from overseas. Money that's lining the pockets of oil producing countries and not ours. That's a heck of a lot of money that could be staying in Australia if we had alternatives such as electric powered vehicles and renewable energies. The Advance Australia Party is committed to helping develop viable alternatives, to not only fossil fuels, but the need for Australia to import energy from overseas.

Australian Farms to be Australian Owned

By Advance
January 04, 2020

We believe Australian farms should only be owned by Australian entities with Australian control. While we support international investment in Australia, we think it unacceptable an increasing number of Australian farmlands are falling into the hands of foreign countries. Australia must maintain either full ownership or controlling interests of our farmlands. It's in the best interests of all Australians. Continue reading

Getting Tough on Violent Crime

By Advance
January 04, 2020
Category: STATE

Laws on violent crime are currently far too soft in NSW. Australians must be able to feel safe knowing that laws are in place to protect them from violent criminal behaviour.

Instances such as domestic violence and coward punch attacks need to be stamped out too. There is no place in our communities for people who attack others without provocation - and long jail sentences are the way to curb it.

Penalties currently given for murder are grossly inadequate most of the time. And we say the penalty should fit the crime. If s... Continue reading

Deregulation of Trading Hours for Business and Retail

By Advance
February 01, 2019
Category: STATE

Sydney's trading hours are way behind the rest of the world. It's almost impossible to book a restaurant after 9pm and most of the shops shut at 6pm. People coming to Australia from places such as Hong Kong, Malaysia and Europe are amazed how everything closes so early.

It makes good sense having longer trading hours. Currently most people travel to and from work around the same time - peak hour!  So we’re all on the roads,... Continue reading

Economic Growth Should Not be Reliant on Population Growth

By Advance
February 01, 2019
Category: FEDERAL

How long can the world's population continue to grow before before we are overpopulated?  Some think we have already exceeded the number. Yet, the world's population continues to spiral upwards.

Coupled with that, Australia's current economic policy is linked to a continued population growth, meaning our population must continue to grow indefinitely or we may face economic collapse. We think that's a pretty poor economic policy. The world's population cannot grow indefinitely, the planet can't support it, and we're already see... Continue reading
